the effects of alkali treatment on phase, acid properties and catalytic synthesis of ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE) of mercerized zeolites were studied. The properties were characterized by XRD, nh-tpd, pyridine adsorption IR,SEM and N2 adsorptionEntrance increases, alkali treatment has removal of template agent relative crystallinity of mordenite, acid volume, specific surface area and entrance are reduced, mercerizing alkali treatment contains template agent activity of zeolite catalyst in synthesis of ETBE was obviously higher than that of alkali treatment has removal of template agent mordenite, at about 80 ℃ can reach the highest activity, its catalytic isobutylene conversion rate was 58%, the highest ratio without samples of alkali treatment on the highest conversion rate of isobutylene high about 13%.
